The Decorated Tree is an interesting book full of many ideas for making traditional ornaments for your Christmas tree. The subtitle of the book is Recreating Traditional Christmas Ornaments and it covers a remarkable variety of Christmas tree ornaments from days gone by with photographs and detailed instructions on how to make them.
Part of the description of the book from the inside front cover says, “ In its 400 year history, the Christmas tree has borne an astonishing variety of objects, everything from intricately carved porcelain eggs to cornucopias stuffed with sweetmeats, from Scandinavian solider cookies to miniature cardboard steamships spouting cotton smoke.”
